Lara was born and studied in Northern Ireland, before moving to London. She loves tap-dancing, daydreaming, eating chips, wearing glitter and writing funny. Not necessarily in that order.

Her debut novel A Boy Called Hope, was shortlisted for the Waterstones’ Children’s Book Prize.

Her second novel, The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean on an Armchair, was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Awards.

Just Call Me Spaghetti-Hoop Boy came out in 2017.
